Delete your account

You can close your AlphaMoney account and erase your personal data at any time — from this page, or from Settings in the app.

Request deletion

Enter the email address on your account. We will send you a link to confirm — we never close an account on an email address alone.

Prefer the app? Open Settings → Delete account. Either route does the same thing.

Before you start

Your account must be empty. Sell or send any gold you hold and withdraw your naira balance first — closing an account cannot destroy metal you own, so we will refuse the request until the wallet is clear. Any transaction still in progress must finish as well.

What we erase

Your name, email address and phone number
Your BVN and NIN
Your date of birth
Your saved beneficiaries, price alerts and notification settings
Your access to the app

What we have to keep

A record of your past transactions, for seven years. Nigerian financial regulations require us to retain them, and we cannot waive that. Once your account is closed those records can no longer be linked back to you.
