Is AlphaMoney legit? How to verify us yourself

If you searched "is AlphaMoney legit" before trusting us with your savings: good. That instinct is exactly right for any financial product in Nigeria. This page exists so your scepticism has something concrete to work with: every checkable fact about us, and how to check it without taking our word for anything.

First: we are not the other "AlphaMoney"

If you've searched our name, you may have found an unrelated lending company operating in India under a similar name. That company has no connection to us whatsoever. We are AlphaMoney Technologies Ltd, a Nigerian company registered in Lagos, building gold-backed money for Nigerians. Our only website is alphamoneyng.com, our only app is the AlphaMoney app distributed by us, and our support email is info@alphamoneyng.com. Anything else using the name (foreign loan apps, Telegram groups, "agents" collecting deposits) is not us, and we'd encourage the same scepticism toward them that brought you to this page.

What can I actually verify about the company?

AlphaMoney Technologies Ltd is registered with Nigeria's Corporate Affairs Commission as RC 8911145, with its registered office in Lagos. You can confirm that yourself in minutes: the CAC runs a free public search portal where any company's registration number and status can be looked up. Companies that don't want to be verified don't print their RC number in the footer of every page. Ours is there, on this page, and in our Terms of Use. We are a registered Nigerian technology company; we are not a bank, and we don't claim to be one.

Who actually holds the money and the gold?

This is the question that matters most, and the answer is deliberately boring: regulated third parties, not us. Naira transactions run through Bank 78, a CBN-licensed Microfinance Bank. Every account is opened with BVN verification, customer funds are segregated, and reserves are reported to the Central Bank of Nigeria. The gold itself is physical, serialised, LBMA-accredited 999.9 fine bullion held in Brink's (Dubai) and Loomis (Istanbul) high-security vaults, sourced through Minted Connect in London. AlphaMoney's role is the software between you and those institutions. If we vanished tomorrow, your naira would be at a CBN-supervised bank and your gold would be allocated metal in third-party vaults, which is the whole point of the structure.

Who checks that the gold is real?

Not us, and that's the answer you want. Customer balances are reconciled against the vaulted metal daily, to the milligram, and the arrangement is audited quarterly by a Big 4 accounting firm. Every alpha is matched one-to-one by allocated bullion: never fractional, never lent out, never earning yield somewhere risky. The full custody chain, with every institution named, is on our security page. A legitimate gold product names its custodians and auditors; a scheme names its referral bonus.

The claims we deliberately don't make

Sometimes what a company won't say tells you more than what it will. We do not promise fixed monthly returns; vaulted gold doesn't pay them, and anyone guaranteeing them is running on new deposits. We don't pay recruitment or referral bonuses for bringing in depositors. We don't claim gold only goes up: its price moves daily and can fall over months, which we say plainly on our why-gold page. And we don't call ourselves a bank. Our entire cost structure is two published fees. If anyone asks you for money in AlphaMoney's name outside the app, it's fraud; report it to info@alphamoneyng.com.

Where the product stands today

Honesty about status matters too: the AlphaMoney app is live with a small closed-beta cohort, and public access is opening in waves through the waitlist. We're pre-launch, which means fewer reviews and less history for you to lean on, another reason this page leans entirely on independently checkable facts rather than testimonials. Check the RC number with the CAC, read the named custodians, and hold us to the standard this page sets. That's what it's for.
